Testimonials
The following quotes and testimonials have been kindly given by our residents and their families and friends:
"I think that the difference between a house and a home is that a home contains love. We can all see that this is a home; you can feel love oozing out of the bricks."
The Reverend Canon, Anne Easter - Radio Broadcaster and Queen's Chaplain
"My Mum has been at George Brooker House since January 2024. Finding somewhere that will care for your loved one is hard and makes you question if you have made the right choice for them. I have no doubt that I found mum the perfect home, and I am grateful to all of the staff that look after her so well. Not every day is a good day for someone with Dementia and Alzheimer's but the staff understand and if it's a bad day it doesn't matter. Mum's happy and I couldn't ask for more than that."

"Mum has lived at George Brooker House since August 2022. The management and staff at George Brooker House are wonderful. They take such good care of her and make her feel loved and supported. There are a range of activities each week and regular visiting singers - for mum music is the most powerful memory aid. As a family we have total confidence that mum is being well looked after."

"Since the day I first visited George Brooker House to my sister becoming a resident, the feeling has been one of homeliness and comfort. It is clean, the food is homemade, the management and staff are down to earth and give time to chat to family and friends who visit. 2 years on and my sister happily wanders around, chatting to everyone when she isn't watching tv or dancing with staff to music and live entertainment."

"My aunt was finding life increasingly difficult living on her own and despite all my and my families best efforts we were unable to meet her needs which were increasing on a week/monthly basis. I started looking for a care home that had good reviews, I visited a couple. George Brooker was on my list to look at. As soon as I walked in with my aunt she said "this is nice". I could go on writing how good it is: First day my aunt was told "treat it as your home"

"My dad has been at George Brooker House for 5 weeks now and he loves it. He says that it is run by angels and he would not get this care anywhere else in the world. Myself and my family are more than happy with the support and care that my dad gets and would recommend to anyone"

"My mum has been living at George Brooker House since October 2023. It has been a relief and provided peace of mind for myself and my family that my mum is well taken care of and treated with dignity and respect. The management and staff are very helpful and supportive, regarding all aspects of my mums care and her wellbeing. There are a variety of fun and meaningful activities/games that are provided every week, as well as the monthly church service and day trips/entertainment, all of which mum really enjoys. The meals are healthy and freshly cooked, the home is clean and has a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We are pleased that my mum is content, has settled well in GBH and made some lovely new friends at the home."

"A huge thank you to everyone who cared for my auntie, Irene. During her time with you, she was shown so much kindness by staff. They went that extra mile to make life for her – and the other residents – as happy and comfortable as possible."

"Thanks for all the flowers and gifts that you gave to Mum whilst she was ill. You were all so good to her and she thought a lot of you all for what you did. She loved her job as a Carer at George Brooker House and it was a joy her working with you, looking after people. She would tell me that she couldn’t wait to get better so she could return to work."
